JOHNSON CONTROLS INC. NAVIGATES COMPLEX SALESFORCE/ELOQUA MIGRATION WITH DEMANDGEN In September 2016, JCI merged with Tyco Security, a DemandGen customer whose marketing team had been using Eloqua for marketing automation. DemandGen worked closely with Tyco's marketing team to champion the case for keeping Eloqua and using it as blueprint for global marketing operations and automation across the newly formed organization. 150 Countries 105,000 People 2,000 Locations Merging with JCI posed unique challenges for the marketing team at Tyco. They had always been an agile team, and they had built a sophisticated marketing stack that included Eloqua, with the help of DemandGen's marketing consulting services. They were concerned that the merge would require them to abandon the infrastructure they'd built and adopt JCI's systems and processes instead. Additionally, Tyco had three lines of business each using Eloqua connected to different Salesforce instances. So, three separate Eloqua instances had to be migrated from those Salesforce instances and merged with JCI's single Global Salesforce instance. To make things more difficult, separate branding—for Tyco Security, Simplex Grinnell Fire and Johnson Controls HVAC—had to be maintained due to legal requirements around the merger and to minimize confusion for customers. Merger Led to Salesforce Consolidation, Eloqua Migration Tyco leaned on DemandGen's exper tise and marketing knowledge to make the case for keeping Eloqua and completing the migration in a way that would not disrupt marketing operations or negatively impact campaigns, customers or lead generation. Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) is a global technology company that serves a wide range of customers in more than 150 countries. Specializing in providing fire, HVAC and security equipment for buildings, JCI employs 105,000 people in around 2,000 locations across six continents.
